Physical Education at Midhurst Primary School offers children the opportunity to develop their leadership, communication, teamwork and sportsmanship abilities through the learning of a variety of physical skills. We encourage all children to aspire to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities, allowing them to become physically confident.

At Midhurst Primary school children have access to two hours of Physical Education each week which could include physical development, dance, games, gymnastics, swimming, athletics and forest schools which are taught by class teachers and specialist instructors.

At playtimes children have access to a wide variety of physical environments, equipment and activities.

Swimming is provided for children in Years Two, Three and Four with non-swimmers in older years being offered extra provision in line with the National Curriculum expectation that all children leave primary school being able to swim.

Children are provided with opportunities to join a variety of After School sports clubs, take part in both school and Rother Valley locality events such as Sports Day, tournaments, competitions and sporting events.

For information about the funding the school receives towards sport, see Primary Sports Funding under the Information tab.
